Working German Shepherds

We are a small hobby breeder, located in northern New Jersey. Our first litter is planned for late 2010, and it should be an exceptional one. Our focus is on the working German Shepherd. Our dogs are from 100% European bloodlines. We raise our dogs from puppies, and train and title our dogs ourselves...no dogs are sent off to be titled. This ensures that we know each dog's temperament inside and out. We train in several venues, and all breeding dogs are titled and breed surveyed. Our primary focus is schutzhund, but we are also active in HGH-style herding, and hope to title our first herding dog in 2010. A good GSD should excel at any job - whether it's schutzhund, herding, agility, or being a loyal family companion.

Our dogs are heavily health tested before breeding - we test hips, elbows, thyroid, and DM carrier status. Dogs are naturally reared, raw-fed, and minimally vaccinated to ensure optimum health. Puppies are raised in the home, and are heavily socialized before going home. They will be tattooed, microchipped, and will come with a written health guarantee.

We are always happy to chat or answer questions about our dogs. Feel free to drop us a line any time!

Our Focus

Strong Working Temperament
The GSD was bred to be a working dog, and a good GSD should excel at just about anything...whether it's schutzhund, herding, agility, S&R, or any other job or dog sport. A good GSD should have prey drive, rock solid nerves, intelligence, and a willingness to please its owner. GSD's can make good pets; however they need to be active, both physically and mentally.
Health
The GSD is a breed that is prone to many health problems. We do many health tests on our breeding animals. By using only healthy dogs. studying pedigrees, and doing all health testing possible, the risk of passing on a genetic problem is greatly decreased. Our dogs are also fed a raw diet and are minimally vaccinated to ensure optimum health.
Functional Structure
Unfortunately, many of today's GSD's have been bred to extremes in structure. Some may have extreme angulation in the rear, a roach back, incorrect size, or a multitude of other faults. The GSD is first and foremost a working dog, and its structure should reflect that. Its structure should be functional, but never extreme.
